Description
The Native Clean Energy Workforce Initiative (NCWI) is an educational program that equips Native and Frontline communities in Portland, OR with the knowledge and skills needed to secure jobs in the fast growing renewable energy industry, with no prior experience required. Led by the Northwest Native Chamber in partnership with GRID Alternatives and Clackamas Community College, this program serves all members of the community. This application is open to anyone interested in pursuing an education and career in the renewable energy industry.
The program begins with hands-on installation training to build fundamental skills and continues with formal education to earn industry-recognized credentials and a college certificate in renewable energy technology. Throughout the program, students receive personalized guidance, career support, and financial assistance in the form of stipends.
Applications for the Summer 2026 cohort are now open. Visit https://nwnc.org/ncwi to learn more.
