Description

You are invited to apply to the 2022 Electrochemistry Gordon Research Seminar, which is taking place on January 8–9 in Ventura, CA. The GRS is a 60-person gathering of graduate students and postdocs where everyone stays in the same hotel, shares meals together, and attends the same discussion and poster sessions. Speakers and discussion leaders will be selected from the applicants and everyone is asked to present a poster. We use this format to encourage communication and discussion of ideas and new unpublished results at the very frontier of electrochemistry.

There will also be a mentorship panel on excellence in scientific communication with Debra Rolison (Naval Research Laboratory), Will Tarpeh (Stanford University), Hannah Shafaat (The Ohio State University), and Paolo Actis (University of Leeds)

We encourage you to apply early as we accept applicants on a rolling basis and the meeting may become full before the deadline. We also recommend that you apply for the Electrochemistry Gordon Research Conference (January 9–14). It immediately follows the GRS in the same venue with the same conference format, featuring presentations from prominent principal investigators in electrochemistry.

If you need financial assistance for the conference registration and travel, or have any questions, please contact the chairs using this form.

Requirements

The Gordon Research Seminar on Electrochemistry is a unique forum for graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and other scientists to present and exchange unpublished data and cutting edge ideas.

This meeting will cover topics including fundamental electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, electrochemical energy storage, bioelectrochemical systems, single molecule/entity electrochemistry, theoretical and computational electrochemistry, organic electrochemistry, and electroanalytical methods.

All attendees are expected to actively participate in the GRS, either by giving an oral presentation or presenting a poster. Therefore, all applications must include an abstract.
