- IJA-NYU Graduate Scholarship
Description
The Indigenous Journalists Association is excited to share that applications are now open for the IJA-NYU Graduate Scholarship, offered in partnership with the New York University Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. This scholarship provides full-tuition support to an IJA member admitted to one of NYU’s in-person graduate journalism programs.
About the Scholarship
This prestigious award is a full-tuition scholarship for Indigenous journalists pursuing graduate study full-time at NYU’s renowned journalism school. It’s open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who share IJA’s mission and who intend to enroll in an in-person concentration (not eligible for online or part-time programs).
NYU-IJA awardees may pursue any of the following graduate concentrations:
- Cultural Reporting & Criticism
- Business & Economic Reporting
- Global & Joint Program Studies
- Literary Reportage
- Magazine & Digital Storytelling
- News & Documentary
- Podcasting & Audio Reportage\
- Reporting the Nation & New York
- Science, Health & Environmental Reporting
Requirements
Deadline: Jan. 6, 2026
Proof of IJA membership must be submitted when accepting the award.
This opportunity is open to all eligible students regardless of background, as long as they align with the core mission of IJA.
