Description
Overview
DuPont will be hosting a virtual one-day seminar series and oral presentation competition at the 48th National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) Annual Conference. This collaborative initiative supports DuPont’s commitment to a diverse workforce and is the third installment of DuPont’s GOLD (Growth Opportunities Leading in Diversity) program, a platform intended to expose doctoral and post-doctoral scientists from underrepresented groups (African American, Hispanic/Latino, and Native American) to the wide range of career opportunities in industrial research at DuPont. This is a great way to get connected to DuPont recruiters (typically aiming at graduate students or post docs in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, polymer science, or related fields)
The theme of this year’s GOLD seminar competition at NOBBCChE is “Makers of New: Developing Innovation for Tomorrow”.
Awards
Selected participants will give an oral presentation on their research, competing to win $1000, participate in networking and mentoring sessions with DuPont scientists, and receive an interview with a DuPont recruiter.
How to Apply
Interested applicants should submit a resume, a research summary, and a 500-word abstract to GOLD@dupont.com (please also send a CC to matthew.olsen@dupont.com) explaining how your research could drive future innovations in an industrial setting. Applicants must attend the NOBBChE conference to be considered for the GOLD seminar competition. Applications will be accepted through July 9th, 2021. Applicants must be pursuing degrees in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or closely related fields. Participation in this conference session does not guarantee future consideration for employment by DuPont.
Requirements
The applicant must register for the NOBCChE conference (typically $25-50 for students).
